The Dixon’s Crossing Trilogy

Let the Dixon’s Crossing Trilogy take you back in time to a South in upheaval…

LEAVING DIXON’S CROSSING 1941

  • America is still struggling through the Great Depression.
  • Mae Johnson, newly graduated, is determined to escape a future as a sharecropper’s wife.
  • “Fun and games” turns into serious war work.

UNDER FAMILIAR STARS         1942-1943

Follow the intertwined stories of Mae and her Medic husband as they struggle with the changing world around them. A changing status for women, upheaval in men’s and women’s relationships,
racial tensions, and the escalation of war around the world.

SECRETS AND SCARS 1944-1945

Will this war ever end? Will our beloved couple ever have a chance to get back to married life? And when the war does end, will their experiences while apart make it impossible for them to have the life they’ve dreamed of?

                 Read about:

Mae—Smart, spunky sharecropper’s daughter, who wants an exciting future

Oliver—The good guy-best friend who’s loved her from afar
Frank—The ne’er-do-well ex-boyfriend who breaks her heart yet can’t let her go
Graydell—A girl with a heart of gold who can’t seem to catch a break in her love life
Laurie—Well-to-do Texarkana girl who gives up college to do her “patriotic” duty
Mr. J.T.—The richest man in Dixon’s Crossing, and the bane of Mae’s existence
And a host of supporting characters you won’t soon forget and won’t be ready to let go!

MURDER BY ANY OTHER NAME

“Officer down!” Becca’s brother, a Harrison County, Mississippi deputy, has been shot dead, and now her world has been changed forever. Was he killed in the line of duty? Or could his death have been part of something more sinister? Becca begins a solitary search for the truth, battling her friends, the authorities, and even herself. She knows she can’t rest until she finds answers.

Who could have had it in for Richie enough to put together an elaborate scheme to fool everyone? Who was really responsible for his death? Why did they want him dead?

And most important: Will she uncover the truth before the killer comes for her?

Join Becca as she grapples with the reality of losing her brother, her best friend, her best supporter — while trying to make sense of the things she’s learning about his life now that he’s gone.
